He was born in Portland Jan. 27, 1920 to Louis and Nora (Huhn) Fedewa. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was decorated with three Bronze Stars. He spent most of his life pursuing his love of farming and was a very practical man who took great joy in providing for his family. One of his favorite hobbies was attending draft horse pulls at area county fairs. He is survived by his loving family, wife of 56 years, Bernadine; sons, John of Hastings, Joseph of Grand Ledge; daughters, Mary Jane (David) Farrell of Rochester, N.Y., Ann (Mark) Farrell of Stockbridge, and Lee Ann (Jerry) Carpenter of Lansing; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Richard (Marilyn) Fedewa of Lansing; sisters, Aileen Bednarz of Kalamazoo, and Helen Snell of Portland; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 3 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Grand Ledge. Military graveside services followed at St. Joseph Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Holihan-Atkin Funeral Home, Grand Ledge. Contributions may be made to St. Vincent DePaul.
