April 20, 2013 Janet C. Fedewa, 81, of Portland passed away peacefully on April 19, 2013. She was born on March 15, 1932 the daughter of Wilhelm and Josephine (Knoop) Pohl. She lived her dream life as a mother and homemaker. She enjoyed family, gardening, spending time at her cottage, going out to dinner and traveling. She was a lifelong member of St. Patrick Church where she enjoyed volunteering in many ways. On Sept. 26, 1951, she married Marvin S. Fedewa, who preceded her in death on the week of their 58th Wedding Anniversary. She is also preceded in death by her parents, and step-mother, Rose (Barton) Pohl; siblings: Linus Pohl, Anna Thelen, Florence Thelen, and Marian Brown. Surviving are her 14 children: Gary (Janet) Fedewa, Dan (Linda) Fedewa, Tony (Deb) Fedewa, Ann (Harold) Bouma, Marlene (Clint) Thomas, Jane (Dan) Schafer, Judy (John) Piasecki, Laura (Dan) Price, Marie (Bob) Schafer, Mark (Paula) Fedewa, Stan (Nancy) Fedewa, Dale (Mary) Fedewa, Connie (Bill) Vallier, and Carol (Don) Gunderman; 52 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren; sisters Agnes Schneider and Mary Simon; many nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. Larry King, Rev. Donald Weber, and Rev. Donald Wieber officiating, at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2013. Rite of Committal will be in Portland Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Sunday, and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Lehman Funeral Homes, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland. Rosaries will be prayed at 8 p.m. Sunday, and 3 and 8 p.m. Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fr. Flohe Foundation in memory of Janet.
