Patricia T. Fedewa, 72, of Portland passed away on Thurs., March 7, 2002.  She
was born on Nov. 12, 1929 in Lansing, the daughter of Clifford and Florence
(Joy) Couchois.  Mrs. Fedewa was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and
was a choir director and cantor for many years.  She was a member of the
Portland VFW Post #4090 Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed painting, reading, sewing
and knitting.  She was a registered nurse at Ionia County Memorial Hospital for
34 years, was active in the American Red Cross Blood Drives and as a hospice nurse.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth in 1963.  Surviving
are her daughter, Judith Fedewa of Lansing; four sons, Gary (Kathy) of Grand
Rapids, James (Elaine) of Saranac, Kevin of Steamboat Springs, Colo., and
William (Shari) of Winter Park, Fla.; nine grandchildren; two and one-third
great-grandchildren; brothers, William Couchois of San Diego, Calif., Jack (Sue)
Couchois of Wake Forest, N.C., and Richard (Vickie) Couchois of Piqua, Ohio; and
several nieces and nephews.

The Memorial Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Charles D. Hall, pastor at 10
a.m., Monday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with interment following at
Portland Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7
p.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 1301 E. Grand River
Ave., Portland.  A rosary will be prayed at 3 p.m., Sunday.  In lieu of flowers,
memorial contributions may be made to the St. Patrick’s Building Fund in memory
of Patricia T. Fedewa.
