Fedewa, age 77, of Westphalia, passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2014. He was born February 25, 1937 to Joseph P. and Elizabeth (Thelen) Fedewa. He married Janice Wieber on June 28, 1958 and together they shared 56 years of marriage. J oseph dedicated over 60 years as an active third degree member of the Knights of Columbus and served as a Grand Knight. He was employed by Fedewa Builders and Lansing General Hospital. Some of his hobbies included woodworking, fishing, and spending time with family and friends at the cottage. He was loved for his great sense of humor and kind heart. Preceding him in death are his parents; son, Darryl Fedewa; brothers, Leo Fedewa (Alberta) and James Fedewa (MaryAnn); sisters, Bernita Vitek (Alex), Mary Smith (Joseph), Odelia Thelen (Gerald), and Catherine VanAcker (John). Surviving are his wife, Janice Fedewa; children, Joseph R. (Mary) Fedewa, Kevin (Lou Ann) Fedewa, Janell (Kurt) Thelen, and daughter-in-law Carol Fedewa; 13 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; siblings, Margaret Thelen (Clair), Msg. Sylvester Fedewa, Sr. Joanne Fedewa SLW, and Fr. Matthew Fedewa. The Mass of Christian Burial will be con-celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 7, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Westphalia. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Westphalia. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Monday, and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the St. Mary's Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia Street, Westphalia. Rosaries will be prayed at 8 p.m. Monday and 3 p.m. Tuesday, and a Scriptural Wake Service held at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
