Lake Odessa Wave-Times Fri. March 28, 1913

LAWRENCE JAY FELLOWS

Lawrence Jay Fellows was born in the township of Odessa on the 13th of October, 
1874 and died in Lansing Mar.18, 1913 at the age of 38 years 5 months and 5 
days. He spent his early life in the immediate vicinity and was married to Eva 
L.Buxton on the 29th of June 1897. Several years after his marriage he and the 
family removed to the west, hoping to enjoy better health. He spent 5 years 
there coming back for a visit and finding her parents in poor health decided to 
remain here for a time, expecting to eventually return to the west where his 
condition had been much improved. They resided in Lansing where he lived at the 
time of his death. He leaves a wife and son Lorence besides a mother and one 
brother to mourn his loss, his father, one brother and an only sister having 
preceded him to the better land.

Out on the unknown path of the year
I will go in the strength of the Lord;
I know not to-day whee the pathway may lead,
But I have the support of His word.
His righteousness gives me assurance of peace,
His tenderness, patience and love
Will strengthen my purpose to please Him in all,
And guide to His kingdom above.

The funeral was held at the old home at 10 o'clock Saturday. Sermon b Rev. 
Thos.Laity and prayer by Rev. W.J. Prestidge, Mrs. and Mrs.Thos.Johnson, 
Mrs.A.J. Dann and Merlin Morgan sang with Miss Bessie Brown as accompaniest. 
Burial was at Lakeside cemetery.
