July 13, 1933 SEBEWA RESIDENT DIED JULY EIGHTH Melvin Fender Passes After Three Weeks' Illness from Appendicitis. Funeral Tuesday. The funeral of Melvin Fender,, a resident of Sebewa, was held from the Sebewa church Tuesday afternoon. Reverend Carrick officiated and burial was in the E. Sebewa cemetery. Mr. Fender seemed to be recovering nicely from the operation for appendicitis and had returned home when he was taken worse and returned to the Sparrow hospital, Lansing, where he died Saturday, July eight. OBITUARY Melvin Fender, son of Ellen and Van Fender, was born in Eaton county, Michigan, August 15, 1899, and passed away July 8, 1933, at Sparrow hospital, Lansing, after an illness of three weeks from appendicitis, at the age of 33 years, 10 months and 23 days. He was married April 8, 1922, to Miss Jennie Cassel ad to this union two sons were born; Glenn, age 9 and Richard, 6 years. He was a kind and faithful father and husband and was highly respected by all who knew him. He leaves to mourn their loss, a devoted wife ad the two sons, an aged father, one brother Lewis Fender and two half-sisters, Mrs Eva Gow and Mrs Della Brovont, besides other relatives and a host of friends.
