Kenneth Lavern Ferguson Jr., age 50, of Ionia passed away Jan. 20, 2008 in 
Ionia.  He was born June 7, 1957 in Ionia, the son of Kenneth and Carole 
(Welch) Ferguson Sr.  He graduated from Ionia High School in 1975 and was 
employed by Brown Corporation.  Kennie was a very unselfish person who loved 
to help others.  He was an avid deer hunter and an aspiring golfer. 

Kennie is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Carole Ferguson Sr. of Ionia; 
daughter, Kylie Ferguson at home; brothers, Lon (Terri) Ferguson of Saranac, 
Gary (Diane) Ferguson of Ionia, Gordy (Kristin) Ferguson of Grandville and 
Denny (Naomi) Ferguson of Ionia; special aunt and uncle, Doug and Sue Ferguson 
of Saranac; special cousin, Brian Telfor of Lansing and several nieces and 
nephews.  

Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11 a.m. at Lincoln Ave. Baptist Church 
with Pastor Darren Tharp officiating.  Interment Balcom Cemetery.  The family 
will receive friends and relatives Wednesday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Lake 
Funeral Home in Ionia.  In lieu of flowers donations in Kennie’s name may be 
made for Kylie’s educational fund.
