The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, September 6, 1927
The funeral services for Mrs. Mary T. Ferguson of Orange, who died late 
Saturday afternoon, were held from the home near Tremayne’s corners Tuesday 
afternoon with Rev. C. E. Thies in charge, and the burial took place in the 
Tuttle cemetery.  The bearers were Otis Ferguson, Emory Ferguson, William 
Ferguson, and Orsie Goodwin.  Mrs. Thies, Mrs. Frank Backer, and Mrs. William 
Hinds arranged the musical numbers.

Mrs. Ferguson was born in Palmyria, Ohio October 22, 1840 and came to Ionia 
County when a child of five with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Tuttle, and 
for 82 years lived in Ionia County.  Surviving her are four children, Mrs. C. 
I. Goodwin, Otis Ferguson, and W. H. Ferguson of Orange, and Emory Ferguson of 
Grand Rapids.
