     Excerpts from Lansing Obituary

      HAZEL FERNAND of Grand Ledge

Died Monday, March 3, 2025- age 101.
Born November 29, 1923 daughter of Mamie & Luther Hawkins of Orleans.
Preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Theodore Roman Fernand, son of 
Scott Alan Fernand, grandson Douglas Lee Ruble Jr., 2 sisters & 1 brother.
Survived by daughter Sallie A. Fernand-Shears(Tom); son Steven Fernand (Jenifer; 
5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at Independent Village of Grand 
Ledge for their service.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 on Thursday,March 6, 2025, at Mills Funeral 
Home, Peters & Murray Chapel, 301 E.Jefferson Street, Grand Ledge,MI 48837.
Visitation one hour prior to the service.
Interment directly to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
