Ionia Sentinel Standard, 17 Sep 1966

Earle J. Ferney, 84, of 1874 North Main street, Clarksville, died at 9:50 p.m. 
Thursday at the Butterworth hospital, Grand Rapids, nine hours after admittance.

He was born August 7, 1882 in Clarksville and was the son of Julius and Julia 
Ferney.  He left Clarksville and went to Chicago in 1901, employed as a motion 
picture operator there and in Omaha, Neb., until 1950, when he retired.  He 
returned to Clarksville in 1951.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at 
Clarksville and also a former member of the Lions club for a number of years.  
He attended Wesleyan Methodist church.  

Surviving are his wife, the former Charlotte Gratiot Todd; one daughter, Mrs. 
Bernard Wilkinson of Grand Rapids and nieces and nephews.

The body will be at Pickens funeral chapel until Sunday noon then taken to 
Wesleyan Methodist church where services will be at 2:30 p.m.  Rev. Gerald 
Hephner will officiate.  Burial will be in Clarksville cemetery.
