The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Friday, February 7, 1975
Fredrick F. Fernholz, 76, of 938 Maynard road, Portland, died Wednesday, at a 
Lansing hospital following an extended illness.  Born in Westphalia June 20, 
1898, he was the son of Frank and Elizabeth Belen Fernholz.  He was a retired 
janitor with the Portland public school system.

Surviving are his wife, Lillian; four daughters, Mrs. Rosaleen Hall and Mrs. 
Dorothy Waltz, both of Portland, Mrs. Lorena Fedewa of Nashville and Mrs. 
Germaine Thompson of Saranac; three sons, Jerry, Larry and Robert all of 
Portland; 24 grandchildren; sister, Mrs. Viola Schafer of St. Johns and 
brother, Arthur of Portland.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic church 
of Portland with interment at Portland cemetery.  Rosary will be recited 
Friday at 8 p.m. at the Neller funeral home in Portland.
