Duane D. Ferris, age 65, of Lyons, passed away at his home Friday, January 7, 
2005.  He was born October 28, 1939 in Ann Arbor, the son of Leo and Norma 
(Lockwood) Ferris.  Duane farmed the family dairy farm with his brother all of 
his life.  He was a Vietnam Veteran and a member of Lyons Muir Lions Club where 
he had perfect attendance for 22 years.  He was a Village Council Trustee and a 
past member of the Ionia Township Board.  Duane is survived by his loving wife 
Ardist Ferris of Lyons; children Steven (Susan) Ferris of Lyons, Linda (Dave) 
Coon of Lyons, Roger Ferris of Lyons; brother, Douglas (Virginia) Ferris of 
Lyons; sister Audrey (Basil) Keefer of Lansing; grandchildren, Shane, Laura, 
Cheyenne, and Luke.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at Lyons-Muir Church with Rev. 
Kenneth Harger officiating.  The family will receive friends and relatives 
Saturday, 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Sunday 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 8:30 
p.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations can 
be made in memory of Duane to Hospice of Michigan or Lions Club of Lyons Muir.
