Richard C. Ferris, 74, of Lansing, formerly of Saranac passed away Wed., Sept. 
5, 2001 in Ionia County.

He was born Sept. 24, 1926, in Lyons, the son of Otis and Ruby (Dickinson) 
Ferris.

He was a member of the Land Improvement Contractors Association, past zoning 
administrator for Keene Township, a member of Flat River Antique Tractor 
Pullers Association, a member of the Sunfield Haulers and a member in the Bible 
study at Shepard of the Hills Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Ferris of Lansing; his daughter, 
Judie (Gerald) Canfield of Saranac; daughter-in-law, LuAnn Ferris of Saranac; 
stepchildren, Judy (Terry) Zimmerman of Lansing, Lyle O’Dell of Lansing, 
Jeannie (Steve) Reimbold of Lansing and Kay (George) Hinderer of Manchester; 
brother, Raymond (Janice) Ferris of Lyons; sisters, Sylvia (Bob) Riker of 
Lyons, Florence (Tom) Benson of St. Johns and Yvonne (Doug) Albright of 
Sunfield; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; seven great-
grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois (Braman); and his sons, Robert and 
Leslie Ferris.

Funeral services for Richard Ferris will be at 1 p.m., Monday at Galilee 
Baptist Church with Rev. Norman Burger officiating.  Interment Easton 
Cemetery.  Visitation is 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Saturday and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 
7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Sunday at Lake Funeral Home in Saranac.

Anyone wishing may make a memorial contribution to American Heart Association 
or American Diabetes Association.  Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
