Lyons—Richard Elmer Ferris, 44, of Lake City died at 2 a.m. Tuesday at a 
Cadillac hospital.  He was born March 18, 1910, in North Plains township, the 
son of Elmer and Laura Ferris, and moved with his parents when young to the 
farm home south of Lyons.  He was a graduate of the Lyons high school.  He 
married Miss Arla Johnson of Orange.  They moved to Lake City a few years ago.

He is survived by his wife, Arla, and a daughter, Sharon, at home; four 
brothers, Leo and Roy of Lyons, Alfred of Portland, and Theodore of Ionia; 
four sisters, Mrs. Edward (Gladys) Van Derske of Portland, Miss Dorothy Ferris 
of Lake City, Mrs. Earl (Gertrude) Weaver and Mrs. Howard (Genevieve ) Hall of 
Lansing.

A prayer service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Lake City funeral 
home.  Rites will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Neller funeral home in 
Portland.  Interment will be in Tuttle cemetery.
