                         George Douglas Figel

George Douglas Figel, age 89, of Ionia,MI. passed away on Sunday Jan.8, 2023.

He was born on July 8, 1942, the son of Lester and Louise (Chapman) Figel in 
three Rivers, MI. On February 21, 1976, he married the love of his life, Sue.

George was a proud owner of Amasa Builders out of Portland and when not 
supervising his crew you would either find him on the lake in the nearest bass 
tournament or playing fast pitch softball. Other hobbies included hunting and 
watching Michigan football.

He is survived by his son, Kurt (Darlene) Figel of Charlotte; daughters, Kari 
(Ron) McCloud of Saranac, Lisa (Matthew) Chapko of St.Johns, Jenifer (Kevin) 
Pogodzinski of Dorr and Carrie (Ray) Hall of DeWitt; 16 grandchildren who adored 
him; 19 great-grandchildren and siblings Sharon Watson of Hastings, Ginger Clark 
of Hastings, and James Figel.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue; parents, Lester and Louise Figel; 
brother, Jan Wesley Figel; grandson, Derek Figel and great-granddaughter, 
Charlotte McCloud-Harnish.
