Funeral services for Dale E. Figg, 88, of First St., Sunfield, were held at 
the Mapes-Fisher Funeral Home on Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 2:00 p.m. Mr. Figg 
passed away October 12 at the Ionia County Memorial Hospital in Ionia.

He was born October 12, 1887 in Sebewa Township, Ionia County, Mich., the 
son of David and Ida (Stinchcomb) Figg. A retired farmer he spent his life 
in the Sunfield area. At one time he had a barber shop in Vermontville.

On January 7, 1912 he was united in marriage to Nellie Hager. To this union 
was born two daughters, Mrs. P.J. (Betty) Welch of Sunfield and Mrs. Maynard  
(Helen) Gierman of Ionia. He was a member of the Sunfield Church of the 
Brethren.

Besides his wife and daughters, he leaves seven grandchildren, six great-
grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Vera McCartney of Lake Odessa.

The Rev. Arthur Heisler officiated. Interment was in Sunfield Cemetery.

Casket bearers were his grandsons, Gary Welch, Jeffrey Gierman, Robert 
Vroman, Denny Shoemaker, Michael Mullin, Lindsay Welch and Bill Welch.
