Figurski, 86, of Portland and Lake Odessa, passed away on Monday, Dec. 25, 2000. She was born on Aug. 22, 1914, in Detroit, the daughter of Joseph and Lillian (Kulakowski) Abram. Mrs. Figurski was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Portland and St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Lake Odessa. She was a member and a stockholder in the Woodland Co-op and while living in Portland was a member of the Portland Library Literary Guild. Mrs. Figurski was an avid stamp collector, enjoyed music, gardening, quilt making and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley A. in 1993. Surviving are daughters, Shirley (Donald) Schrauben and Cynthia “Cindy” (Lanny) Reed all of Portland; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and sister, Leona (Bill) Hearn of Georgia; and several sisters-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces and nephews. The mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Charles D. Hall, at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Rite of Committal following at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 1301 E. Grand River Ave., Portland. The Rosaries will be prayed at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. For those desiring, contributions may be made to the Fr. Flohe Foundation or Ionia County Humane Society, 3256 S. State Rd., Ionia, 48846, in memory of Mrs. Figurski.
