Ionia Sentinel Standard - July 2011


Lorraine Fike, 85, of Sidney, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at laurels 
of Carson City. She was born Dec. 27, 1925 in Sheridan, the daughter of Jesse 
and Mable (Lacy) Edwards.

Surviving are her children, Gail and Melvin Bussell of Sidney, Gary and Sherry 
Herald of Sheridan and Daniel and Delores Herald of St. Johns; plus six 
grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two sisters, Norma and Mervin Bussell of 
Stanton, Elaine Edwards of Sheridan; and one brother, Harold and Helen Edwards 
of Sheridan, in addition to several nieces and nephews. 

Lorraine was preceded in death by four husbands, eight brothers and two sisters.

Lorraine has been a lifelong resident of the Sheridan area, attended the Shiloh 
Community Church and was a member of the VFW Post 5065 Ladies Auxiliary.

A memorial service will be held at the VFW Post 5065 in Sheridan at 11 a.m. 
Saturday, July 16 with Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating and a luncheon 
following.

In accordance with the wishes of the family, cremation has already taken place 
and there will not be any visitation held. Final interment will be at the Maple 
Ridge Cemetery, Vickeryville. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial considerations to either the 
Commission on Aging or the VFW Food Pantry.
