For the past year they had lived at Morrison Lake Gardens. Dr. Finch came to Ionia from Marquette and had been with the corrections department since 1922. He was born in Jacobsville April 20, 1893 and was graduated from Ishpeming high school in 1910. He received his AB degree in 1913 from University of Michigan and his MD in 1920. From 1922 to 1929 he was employed as medical director at Marquette prison prior to entering private practice until 1948 and for the next five years was medical director for all state penal institutions. In 1953, Dr. Finch returned to private practice until 1963 and returned to Marquette prison before accepting the position at MR. Dr. Finch had been active in Rotary clubs in Jackson, Lansing and Ionia. Surviving are his wife, Althea; one daughter, Mrs. Lysl G. Hall, Jr., of Jackson; four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Charles Layson of Detroit and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Central Methodist church in Lansing. The body will be at Estes-Leadley Colonial funeral home, 325 Washtenaw, Lansing, until time of service.
