Ionia Sentinel - Friday 21 April 1905
Silas Finch, who died at his home in Easton, April 10, was one of the real 
pioneers of Ionia county, his father locating on the same farm where Silas 
died, in 1839.  Silas was born in Genesee County, N. Y. in 1832.  He leaves a 
widow and two sons, George and Isaac.  The only daughter died about ten years 
ago.  The funeral service yesterday afternoon called out a large attendance, 
especially of pioneer friends.  Service was at the Easton M. E. church, 
conducted by Rev. D. H. Shelly of this city.
