DEATH CALLS WILLIAM FINK
Lake Odessa Pioneer Passes Away Friday At His Home Here.
FUNERAL WAS SUNDAY

Was Veteran of Civil War and One of Community's Well-known and Respected 
Citizen.

Lake Odessa lost another of its well known and highly respected pioneers when 
William Fink answered the last call Friday. Mr.Fink was 75 years and six months 
of age, having been born in Knox county, Pennsylvania, July 28, 1841. He moved 
to Michigan with his parents in 1955, enlisting in Company H, 12th Michgan 
Infantry in 1861. He served to the close of the war; and was married to Martha 
J. White in Charlotte in 1870. He was one of Lake Odessa's real pioneers, having 
taken up a residence here more than 25 year ago, just a short time after the 
town was started. For a number of years until recently, he was one of the local 
rural mail carriers; and during his various activities won the community's 
affection and respect in a measure that is attained b only a few.

The funeral was held Sunday afternoon from the home, Rev.L.L. Steadman preached 
the sermon, and a men's quartette, consisting of Wm.Gibson, Leon T.Gibson, 
Maurice D. Armstrong and Wm. Naber, accompanied by Miss Ilo Lucas sang. 
Interment was in Lakeside Cemetery.

Among those who survive Mr. Fink are a brother, Chas E.Fink, of Lansing and two 
children, Mrs.Glen Meyers, of this place and Frank Fink of San Francisco, Cal. 
those who attended the funeral from out of town were; Chas.Fink, Geo. Fink, Mr 
and Mrs James Wandell of Lansing; Corbin Corsette, Ada Corsette and Mrs Fred 
Voss of Battle Creek; Daniel Stine of Altona.
