           DIRK FINKBEINER 1964 - 2017
   Dirk D. Finkbeiner, 52, of Grattan Township, Belding, passed away Friday morning,
Sept. 22, 2017, surrounded by his loving family at home.
   Dirk was born Oct. 25, 1964 in Greenville, the son of Norman and Gretchen
(Updike) Finkbeiner.  He was an auto mechanic by trade, but was known and respected as 
a very competent in repairing all kinds of machinery and in building and construction.  
Dirk loved music and was an accomplished drummer. He was a member of the Danish 
Festival Band and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Dirk also proudly served his country 
in the U.S. Marine Corp.
   Dirk is loved and survived by his daughter, Melissa (Zack) Wright of Sheridan;
his sisters, Barbara (Bill) McCallister of Canadian Lake, Andrea (Andrew) Schwallier of 
Grand Rapids, Lori (Ron) Commans of Belding; and many nieces and nephews.  Dirk was p
receded in death by his parents and his brother Eric.  
   Visitation will be 10 - noon on Friday Sept. 29, 2017 at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral 
Home, Belding. Graveside military services will follow at 1 p.m. at Otisco Township 
cemetery, Belding.
   Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association or the Danish Festival
Band.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.  Messages of condolence may 
also be given at www.jffh.com.
