First, 71, of 3695 Haynor road will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Fitzjohn-Courser funeral home in Belding. A retired Orleans township farmer, Mr. First died Saturday night at Blodgett Memorial hospital in Grand Rapids. He had been in ill health the past six months and was admitted last Thursday. He was a member of Orleans Grange, Farmers Union and Hugo Fales Post 203, American Legion of Belding, and was a veteran of World War I. March 17, 1918 he was married at Mecosta to the former Beatrice Beemer who survives. other survivors include a son, Eugene of Orleans; four daughters, Mrs. Leonard Olsen of route three, Ionia, Mrs. Richard Wolverton of Lake Odessa, Mrs. Jerome Gregory of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Mrs. Willard Youngs of Belding; a brother, Fred First of Mecosta; 17 grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Officiating will be the Rev. M. L. Brokaw of Lake Odessa Methodist church and interment will be at Orleans cemetery in Ionia County.
