Daily Standard - Thursday, Sept. 24, 1908

Mrs. Lemuel First died at her home in Orange township on Sunday and the 
funeral was held on Wednesday afternoon of this week.

Mrs. First was born in Lockport, N.Y., in 1838. She was married in 1856 and 
since that time she and her husband have lived together on the same farm. 
During the long residence in Orange Mrs. First make many warm friendships both 
in her own neighborhood and in Portland. She was a worthy neighbor, and the 
family has the sympathy of the community in their loss.
