Fish, died at her home on North Main street Monday morning after an illness of several months duration, which she bore with patient suffering. Her departure was mourned by the sorrowing family and a circle of warm friends, who had learned to appreciate the worth of this splendid woman. Lucy A. Spencer was born in Lake Odessa, Ionia county, September 7, 1851, and died April 15, 1912, aged 61 years, 7 months and 8 days. The greater part of her life was spent in Ionia county. During the last ten years she has resided in Tekonsha and vicinity where she has many friends. She was a firm Christian and a most devoted mother, who with great fortitude endured her illness. She was married at the age of eighteen to George B. Fish and to this union four children were born, all of whom are left to mourn her loss. Forrest S., of Belding, Mich., and Orlo J., Mrs. Ross Miller, and Mrs. Loyal Hinkley of Tekonsha. There are also a brother and five children. Services were conducted a the home Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, by Rev. H. A. Vaughan. Mrs. Harvey Doolittle, Miss Lillie Howard, C. B. Newland and Ralph Doolittle rendered very impressive selections. The flowers were beautiful and in keeping with the brief and simple service. Interment was made at Riverside cemetery.
