Earl W. Fish, age 84, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2003.  He was born 
February 24, 1919 in Cadillac, the son of Clarence and Agnes (Allen) Fish.

Mr. Fish was a Veteran of World War II serving in the United States Navy and 
retired from skilled trades at General Motors after 33 years of service.  He 
was an avid gardener and outdoorsman, loving to hunt and fish.  He loved 
woodworking and created many beautiful pieces of furniture for his family.  
The things he loved dearly in life were his wife, children, grandchildren and 
his many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Robert; sisters Louise, Betty 
and Isabell.  Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Marian L. of Portland; two 
children, James (Rosie) Fish of Sunfield; and Coral Fish of Portland; two 
grandchildren; James (Beth) Fish of Ann Arbor; and Sheri (Brian) West of 
Norwalk, Connecticut; two great-grandchildren who are on the way; brothers, 
Max (Joan) Fish of Portland; sister, Earlene (Elmo) Nielsen of Washington; and 
several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2003, at the Schrauben-Lehman 
Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Jack Lacey, 210 E. Bridge Street, 
Portland, with interment following at Portland Cemetery.  Military graveside 
honors will be provided by the Portland VFW Post #4090.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. 
Monday and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday.  For those desiring, 
memorial contributions may be made to the Portland District Library Building 
Fund, in memory of Earland W. Fish.
