Dame was born in Carey, Ohio, Jan. 25th, A.D. 1858, and departed this life at VanWert, Iowa on the 14th day of June A.D. 1913, as the result of an accident. She was married to George R. Fisher, May 28th, A.D. 1884, and was the mother of eight children, three of whom died in infancy. There remains to mourn the loss of a loving and kind wife and mother, her husband Rev. Geo. R. Fisher, Mrs. Charles E. Leonard and Mrs. Lewie Schmidt, daughters and Charles L., Lowell A., and Walter R. Fisher, sons, and Mrs. J.C. Stahl, sister, and Charles and Harry Dame brothers, and four grandchildren, together with a host of other relative and friends. Mrs. Fisher was a kind and loving wife and mother who was devoted to her home life and whose every thought was to make her home pleasant. She gave her heart to God at an early age and maintained her Christian faith to the end. A life like hers is sure to meet its reward. ---- Tragic Death of Mrs. G.R. Fisher. Mrs. Geo. R. Fisher whose death by accident was mentioned in last week’s items was the result of being thrown from a buggy near VanWert, Iowa on the 14th, of the present month. One year ago Rev. Geo. R. Fisher was transferred from the Mich. U.B. conference to the Iowa, U.B. Conference and assigned a work at Beaconsfield and VanWert, taking up his residence at the village of Beaconsfield. On Friday prior to the accident went to VanWert stayed over night and on Saturday started to go where their youngest son Reuen was at work, and when a short distance from the latter place, they met an automobile that scared their horse threw both himself and Mrs. Fisher out, severely bruising him and injuring Mrs. Fisher so badly that she died in about three hours. As soon as the owner of the machine saw what had happened he took Mr. and Mrs. Fisher in the machine and brought them to VanWert where Mrs. Fisher soon breathed her last. Not desiring to bury the remains there he brought the body here where three of their children, Chas. L. Fisher, Lowell A. Fisher and Mrs. Charles E. Leonard reside, and the funeral was held in the U.B. church last Wednesday June 18, Rev. F.B. Parker officiating. Mr. Fisher commenced his ministerial work here after joining the Michigan Conference having been transferred from the Sandusky, Ohio Conference about eight years ago. Mrs. Fisher has also visited here several times being here last fall and staying several weeks. The members of the church and others did all they could to lend a helping hand and many floral offerings were presented and laid upon the casket. Outside relatives who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Stahl, the latter being a sister of Mrs. Fisher, Mrs. Charles Dame, a sister-in-law, Henry, Denver and Frank Hart, nephews, of Carey, Ohio and Mr. and Mrs. Lewie Schmidt, the latter being a daughter, of Detroit, Mich.
