Ionia Sentinel Standard – Friday, 21 December 1923
George C. Fisher, who has been a resident of this vicinity for the past six 
years, passed away at the family home in South Ionia this morning at 7:50.  He 
had been in failing health for the past three years and had been confined to 
the house for most of the past summer.



Mr. and Mrs. Fisher moved to Ionia from the village of Weidman where Mr. Fisher 
and conducted a hardware store for many years.  He was a member of the Odd 
Fellows lodge of Weidman.  Mr. Fisher at the time of his death was 72 years of 
age.  The cause of death was a complication of diseases.



Besides his widow he leaves one brother, Edward Fisher of Syracuse, Ind.  The 
funeral will be held from the late home Monday afternoon at 2:30.  Rev. Joseph 
H. Green of the Presbyterian Church will officiate.  Burial will take place in 
the family lot at the Balcom cemetery.
