Fisher, 69, of Stanton, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, at Spectrum Health-East Campus, Grand Rapids. She was born Oct. 18, 1933, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Harold and Blanche Geister Potter. Shirley had retired from Frigidaire in 1994. Shirley enjoyed playing bingo and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Harold. She is survived by her children, Duane Fisher, Tonya Thompson, both of St. Louis, James Albert Zavitz II of Morrestown, Gregory James Fisher of Stanton; 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; her brothers and sisters, Joan and John Terry of St. Louis, Mo.; Glen Potter, Jimmy and Donna Potter, all of Pevely, Mo.; Gary and Bobbie Potter of Ohio, Verla Thatcher of Lansing, Larry Dunn of Greenville, Susan Nowak of Sparta. Funeral services are 4 p.m. Saturday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding, with Pastor Darwyn Hassert of Smyrna Bible Church officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
