Fisher, 66, died unexpectedly Monday, Sept. 14 at his home, Lake Odessa Route 2. He had complained of feeling ill when working at a neighbors with his brother, Claud and decided to go home about 9 a.m. Monday. When he arrived home at 6:30 he found his brother dead on the floor. Death was attributed to a heart ailment by Coroner Dale Kauffman who said death occurred about 9:30 a.m. Andrew J. Fisher was the son of Andrew J. and Medora Fisher and born June 25, 1887, at Eaton Rapids. He is a member of the Joy Memorial Methodist church in Grand Rapids, was a veteran of World War I having served with the 339th Infantry of the 85th Polar Bear Division, and at the time of his death he was serving as chaplain of the LaVerne Demaray Post 112 of the American Legion, Lake Odessa. He and his brother, Claud have lived in this area for 17 years and at the present farm home north of town for 13 years. He came here from Hastings. Surviving are a brother, Claud, Mrs. John R. Davison of Grand Rapids, and a nephew, Howard M. Mapes of the U.S. Navy stationed at San Diego, Calif. He reposes at the Pickens Chapel where services will be held Thursday, Sept. 17 at 2 p.m. Rev. Paul Robinson of the Methodist church will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery. Military services will be conducted by the Legion Post.
