Excerpts from Greenville Obituary

SUMNER FISK

Died Monday, May 4, 2026-age 47 after fighting with dignity & grace with lung 
cancer.
Sumner fought hard her whole life, including overcoming the premature death of 
her own mother & aunt, Jackie at the age of 5, and the premature death of her 
baby sister, Michelle Grace Thomas at the age of 14.
Preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Glenn Arlie Cook, her maternal 
grandmother, Barbara Jean Garey, her mother, Emma Jewell Cook, her Aunt 
Jaqueline Joyce Cook, her baby sister, Michelle Grace Thomas & her paternal 
grandfather, Carl Duane Thomas.
Survived by her loving husband of 22 years Robert Fisk, her father Darrel Duane 
Thomas, her step-mother, Jill Ellen Thomas, her sister, Niki & her 3 brothers, 
Shawn, Randy, and LeeRay, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews.
Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the 
Fred Morris Building, Lake Odessa Fairgrounds, 1635 Jordan Lake Road, Lake 
Odessa.
Memorial contributions may be made to St.Jude's Children's Research Hospital in 
honor of Sumner.
