Mrs. Abbie Fiske died at her home in Otisco Tuesday on the old farm where she 
and her husband, Joseph Fiske, settled over forty years ago.  She was a lady of 
most estimable character and bore the privations and hardships of pioneer life 
with the old neighbors of those early days with cheerfulness and fortitude.  
She was born in Ashfield, Mass., in 1822, her maiden name being Kimberly, and 
came to Michigan with her father, two sisters and four brothers all of whom 
have gone to rest, in 1828 and settled in Ann Arbor.  In 1843 she married 
Joseph Fiske and soon settled here, the latter died about 20 years ago.  She 
was the mother of Mrs. Joseph D. Morse and Ambert and Walter Fiske.  The 
funeral service was held today at the house and her remains now rest in the old 
cemetery in Otisco.
