Fitzgerald for 42 years, was filled with friends and neighbors Monday for his funeral service conducted by Rev. John McGinnis, of Middleton, a former pastor in the North Plains community church. Mr. McGinnis was called to officiate at these rites because Mr. Fitzgerald had so often expressed his love for the minister. Of those attending the services were persons born in the vicinity after Mr. Fitzgerald had come there to live and who had grown to maturity and middle age during his residence on the same farm. The bearers were E. Elvert, G. B. Brigham, B. F. Dalzell, Coral Estep, Elmer Brigham, and Mose Merrithew. Mr. Fitzgerald was a native of New York and came to Michigan in 1871 when 20 years of age. He was a member of the Gleaner lodge and of the north Plains church. He leaves the widow, to whom he was married 42 years ago and a son, L. J. Fitzgerald.
