Ionia Sentinel Standard-Dec. 1, 1904

Wm. Fitzgibbons, postmaster at Saranac, died yesterday at Georgetown, N.C., where he
had an oar factory. He also had an oar factory at LaGrange, Ind., and his business
interest seem to have been largely out of the state, where a large part of his time was spent, but
this did not prevent his re-appointment for a third term as Postmaster at Saranac, for he was a
valiant henchman of Wm. Alden Smith, and the Government Post offices are run for the benefit
of congressman.
