Courser Funeral Home. Rev. Eugene Lewis of United Methodist Church officiated. Interment was at River Ridge Cemetery. Pallbearers were Leo Kennedy, William Crystler, Dan Morris, Jeffrey Kersjes, Ronald Newland and Robert Shaffer. Mr. Fitzjohn died October 7 at Belding Community Hospital. He was an area resident for 80 years. He was born July 3, 1880 in St. Louis, the son of Moses Fitzjohn and Jane Post. He married Edith Stewart in 1904. She preceded him in death in 1917. He married Myrtle S. Hartle in St. Louis in 1919. She survives. Mr. Fitzjohn was a retired funeral director. He belonged to United Methodist Church and was a life member of Good Fellowship Club, Washington Club, Smyrna Friendship Club, and Lions Club. He was a retired member of the Michigan Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association. Mr. Fitzjohn retired in November 1961, selling his business to Charles M. Courser. The firm was established in 1919. Mr. Fitzjohn is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret (Thomas) Isles of Lake Orion and Mrs. Mary Jane (Stanley) Kersjes; two sons, Leonard Fitzjohn and Merril Fitzjohn of Temple City, California; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
