Sentinel-Standard - Tuesday, May 13, 1975

Mrs. Sarah L. Fountain Flachs, 79, of 425 Price, died unexpectedly Monday at 
Ionia Memorial hospital.

Born April 22, 1896, at Millbrook, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George 
Nelson.

January 18, 1914, she was married in Millbrook to Earnest Fountain who died 
December 21, 1964.

She was married April 16, 1966, to John Flachs who survives. 

She had been a resident of Ionia 55 years and was a member of the Zion United 
Methodist church.

Surviving besides the husband, John, are two sons, Albert Fountain of Ionia and 
Fay Fountain of Lyons; daughter, Mrs. Ethel Cook of Ionia.

Also surviving are three stepsons, Eugene Flachs and Walter Flachs of Remus and 
Gerald Flachs of New Mexico; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Teresa Coville and Mrs. 
Alice Lueder of Remus, and Mrs. Darlene Frumveler of Big Rapids; 10 
grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; 22 step grandchildren and 15 step 
great grandchildren; two brothers, William and Frank Nelson of Ionia.

funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 pm at the Myers-Roetman funeral home 
with interment at Decker cemetery at Blanchard.

A memorial has been established for the heart fund.

The family will be at the funeral home Tuesday and Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm.
