The body is at the Boynton funeral chapel, where friends may call at any time. Funeral services will be conducted at the chapel Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. Burial will be in Highland Park cemetery. Mr. Flater was of German parentage and born in Fulkston, Md., coming to Michigan when a young man and while in Ionia following the trade of a stone mason. He had worked on contracts at the Michigan reformatory, the Ionia state hospital and the old Methodist Episcopal church, and the Webber block. He retired 10 years ago. He was a Mason and belonged to all of the Masonic lodges in Ionia up to and including the commandery. He was a charter member of the Order of Eastern Starr, Queen Esther chapter, and had served as a worthy patron. He was intensely interested in fraternal work and for years the Masonic lodge was scarcely opened without him taking part. He also belonged to the Elks’ lodge and the Odd Fellow lodge and the Methodist Episcopal church. Mrs. Flater died several years ago. She was before her marriage Anna Weist, and a sister of Judge Weist, of Lansing. His only surviving relative is a brother, Henry, of Findley, O., who will be present for the funeral services. Subsequent Publication: January 20, 1933 Funeral services for John Falter, who died Wednesday evening, will be conducted by Rev. M. W. Duffey at the Boynton funeral chapel Saturday afternoon at 2:30. Burial will be in Highland Park cemetery. The services will be under Masonic auspices. Masons are asked to bring cars.
