Mrs. Fleckenstein was well known before her marriage here as Miss Sarah Knapp, sister of Dr. Knapp, and a student at the Ionia high school, a favorite among the young people she became very popular and on September the 7th, 1918, she was married to Jackson Fleckenstein, also of Ionia. During the time Mr. Fleckenstein was in the service she stayed here with his mother, Mrs. A. P. Fleckenstein, and then they made their home in Grand Rapids, where he headed the company which is manufacturing the pump of his own invention. Mrs. Fleckenstein was taken sick on New Years day and was in the Grand Rapids hospital for some time. Thinking that better care would be found in Chicago she was taken there, but passed away Friday evening. The remains were taken to Indianapolis where the funeral was held this afternoon at two o’clock. The factory in Grand Rapids was closed today and Mr. Fleckenstein accompanied his son to the funeral.
