Fletcher, was born in Chateugay, New York, November 27th, 1857, and departed this life June 21, 1922. His family removed to Michigan locating in Ionia where he spent his early boyhood and received his education in the Ionia public schools. He found employment with J.L. Hudson, where he remained until 1885, at which time he removed to Grand Rapids and was employed by the Star Clothing Co., becoming department manager. In September, 1896, he came to Lyons locating on the present farm, one mile west of town. He was married to Louise Morganthaler of Ionia in 1886 and to this union three sons were born. He is survived by his wife, two sons, L.M., of Chicago and H.H., of Lyons; two grandsons and two brothers, Benjamin H., of Sebewa and George Y., of Lake Odessa. Mr. Fletcher has been an invalid for many years, and for the last six years has been confined to a wheel chair. He has been a patient sufferer and death came to him as a relief. Funeral services were held from the home Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Chas. Nease. Interment was made in the Balcom cemetery, south of Ionia. ----- The funeral of Frank A. Fletcher was largely attended at the home near Lyons Saturday afternoon, Rev. Charles Nease officiating. Burial was made in Balcom cemetery. Mr. Fletcher had been an invalid for many years, and spent the last six years of his life in a wheeled chair. The bearers chosen by himself were his two sons, L. Morgan Fletcher, of Chicago, and Homer Fletcher; Issi Fletcher, of Sebewa; Sanford Huldin, of Grand Rapids; Charles Chamberlain, of Orange, and Joseph McQuillin, of Ionia. Among those who were here to attend the funeral were his brothers, Benjamin H. Fletcher, of Sebewa; and George Y. Fletcher, of Lake Odessa; also Mr. and Mrs. John Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. Sanford Huldin and their daughter Betty, of Grand Rapids; Mrs. Sarah Edwards, Miss Louella Eaton, and Mrs. Moore, of Greenville. Deceased was the son of Mary and T.J. Fletcher and was born November 27, 1857, at Chateaugay, N.Y. coming to Ionia when a boy, his boyhood was spent here and his early education acquired in the city schools. His first business experience was in Ionia clothing stores, he having been with J.L. Hudson for several years. He was prominently connected with the Ionia Light Guards for years. From Ionia he went to Grand Rapids, where he was connected with the Star Clothing company until he went to the farm, consisting of 220 acres, at Lyons in 1896. Since he came into possession of the farm it has been greatly improved and made one of the most desirable in that locality. In 1885 he was married to Miss Louise Morganthaler, of Ionia, who survives him, together with his two sons, L.M. Fletcher, of Chicago, and Homer Fletcher, who is managing the farm; two grandchildren, the sons of Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher, and two brothers.
