Mr. Fletcher was the son of Joseph and Dinah Fletcher, early settlers in North Plains township. He was born November 15, 1866. The earlier part of his life was spent in Traverse City, Crystal, Carson City, Lyons and Muir, and the last 40 years of his life at his present farm home. He was married to Elizabeth Fogarty of Suttons Bay, who preceded him in death 45 years ago. Surviving him are two sons, Donald of Muir and Harold of Traverse City; two grandchildren, Dorothy and David; a sister, Mrs. Ernest Ladwick; and a brother, George, and several nieces and nephews. A son, Howard, twin brother to Harold died at the age of two years. Services were held from North Plains church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Dr. Paul Stewart read the service, and interment was in North Plains cemetery. Mrs. Melvin Burtraw was in charge of the music. Bearers were Neil Fletcher, Russell Fletcher, Raymond Fletcher, Joseph Fletcher, Ford Ludwick and Kenneth Ludwick.
