She was a lifelong resident of Ionia County and lived the past 48 years at the present home. Mrs. Fletcher was born August 19, 1884 in Ionia Township, the daughter of Frank and Mary Adgate Taft, and on June 6, 1905 was married to M. Clyde Stout who died March 26, 1951. She was married December 16, 1956 to I. T. Fletcher, he preceded her in death December 29, 1958. Mrs. Fletcher was an active worker and member of LeValley Methodist Church and over the years, held many offices in the church. She was a charter member of WSCS and former treasurer of the church. She was communion steward for many years and was a member of the Farm Bureau. Surviving are a son, Frank Stout and a daughter, Mrs. Wayne Sprague, Sr., both of Ionia Township; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Lester Croel of Lyons, Mrs. Leoyn Schworer of Ionia Township, Mrs. Reva Callow of Ionia, and Mrs. Marion Beattie of Clarksville; two brothers, Arthur and Mark Rice of Plymouth. A son Sterrey preceded her in death in 1963 and a sister, Myrtie in 1908. Funeral service will be conducted at LeValley Methodist Church Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Leonard Rowell officiating and interment at Balcom Cemetery. Contributions for a memorial to LeValley church will be accepted Boynton in funeral home. ----------------- Funeral service for Mrs. Jesse Fletcher, 79, who died suddenly Monday at her home on Kelsey highway, was held at Lee Valley Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Leonard Rowell officiated and interment was at Balcom Cemetery. Mrs. Doris Larson was organist and William Larson, Usher. Bearers were Clyde Stout, Francis Stout, Leon Stout, Larry Listerman, Wayne Sprague, Jr., and Bruce Walkington. Attending from out of town where Mrs. Luetta Croel, Ray Croel, Laura Croel and Mrs. Francis Pritchard of Lyons; Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Stout, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Corey, and Jim Corey of Grand Rapids; Mrs. Roy Clark and Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Walkington of Lake Odessa, Mrs. William Wagner, Grand Ledge, Mrs. Bertha Baldwin and Mr. and Mrs. John Baldwin of Breckenridge, Mrs. Harold Staggemeier and Mrs. Jim McKeone of Lansing, Mrs. E.A. Rice of Plymouth, Mr. and Mrs. John Beattie of Clarksville, Ed Stout of Belding, Mrs. Frank Wyckoff of Sheridan, Mrs. Walter Hansen of Greenville, Mrs. William Thompson of Muskegon, Charles Elder of LaVerne, Calif., and Mrs. David Snyder of Chicago.
