MAUDE B. FLETCHER

MUIR - Maude B. Fletcher, 84, formerly of Lyons, died May 22 at a Belding nursing
home.

She was born May 11, 1904, in Edmore, the daughter of Joseph and Bertha (Osborne) 
Liscombe. She graduated from Edmore High School.

Fletcher was first married to Leslie Murphy in 1923, and he died in 1943. She was
married again to Homer Fletcher in May, 1949. He died in 1974.

She was a member of the Muir Presbyterian Church, and served one year as Ionia
County Sheriff.

She is survived by two sons, Leslie Murphy of Ionia and Joseph Murphy of Muir; one 
daughter Lorraine Pelon of Ionia; one step-son, Lewis Fletcher of Carson City; one
step-daughter, Mary Wenikainen of McBain; one sister Thelma Foster of Edmore; 17 
grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be May 25, 2 p.m. Hull Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Bette
Dobbie officiating. Burial will be in Balcom Cemetery.

The Family will be at the funeral home May 24, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  A
memorial fund for Muir Presbyterian Church has been established, in care of the funeral home.
