The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, October 23, 1972
Raymond Edward Fletcher, 60, of 9332 Schaeffer Road, Muir, died unexpectedly 
at Ionia County Memorial hospital Monday morning of an apparent heart attack.  
He had been admitted to the hospital Sunday.

Born December 23, 1911 in North Plains township, he was the son of George and 
Edna Woodmansee Fletcher.  He was married January 20, 1936 to Marion Wright.  
A member of St. John the Baptist Catholic church of Hubbardston, he was also a 
lifelong farmer in the area and employed at General Tire in Ionia and its 
predecessors 20 years.  He was preceded in death by a son, Roger.

Besides his wife, Marian, he leaves six sons, Gerald of Lyons, Ronald and 
Terrance of Muir, Mark of Pewamo, and Phillip and Richard at home; three 
daughters, Mrs. Rita Frayer of Lansing, Mrs. Sharon Gensterbloom of Portland 
and Mrs. Cathleen Hearld of Muir; ten grandchildren.  Also surviving are two 
brothers, Russell of Muir and Neil of Ionia; three sisters, Mrs. Hazel Wright 
of Ionia, Mrs. Wilma Dorey of Belding and Mrs. Donna Piggott of Fowler.  

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist church 
at Hubbardston.  Interment will be at the church cemetery.  Rosary will be 
recited Monday and Tuesday evenings at 8 p.m. at Estep funeral home north of 
Muir.
