The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, November 13, 1958
Simon James Fletcher, 46, of Detroit, after an illness of 15 years, at Herman 
Keifer hospital, at Wayne, died Tuesday at 2 p.m.  He was born May 6, 1912 in 
North Plains township, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Fletcher.  His father, 
Clarence, preceded him in death.

Mr. Fletcher attended Hayes and Muir school and after his marriage March 24, 
1940 to Beatrice Frase, moved to Milan and later to Wayne.  He was an 
attendant nurse at Ypsilanti State Hospital from 1936 until 1942.  He was a 
member of the Untied Presbyterian church at Wayne. 

Surviving are his wife, Beatrice; three sons, Larry, Gary and Dean; his mother 
Mrs. Mabel Fletcher of Muir; two brothers, Joseph of Saline and Howard of 
Pontiac; and a sister, Mrs. Ruth Goodwin of Horton.

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Muir Church of 
Christ.  The Rev. Roger Wright will conduct the service.  Arrangements are 
being made by Estep funeral home at Muir and burial will be in Cadillac 
Memorial Gardens at Wayne.  Bearers will be Clee Brown, Myron Brown, John 
Kruger, Knight Kruger, Max Strachan and Howard Shaeffer.
