Muir - Russell John Fletcher, 81, of Muir, died Tuesday, March 24, 1998 at
Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids.  He was born on Feb. 28, 1917 in Muir to
George and Edna Fletcher.  He married Florence Wright on Feb. 22, 1941, she
preceded him in death on Nov. 11, 1970.  He married Beulah Ione Brians on Jan.
15, 1972 at St. John the Baptist Church in Hubbardston.  He was an avid hunter
and fisherman.

He is survived by his wife, Ione Fletcher of Muir, three sons, Paul and Annette
Fletcher of Concord, N.H., Gary and Bernadette Fletcher and George and Kim
Fletcher of Muir; four daughters, Marcia and Gary Barnes of Portland, Carol and
Larry Wetherbee of Ionia, Sally and Tom Strachan of  Muir, and Sandra and
Stanley Kolp of Westphalia; daughter-in-law, Delores Schmitt; two step-children,
Mary and Jim Yeomans and Martha and Dave Anderson of Sheridan; 27 grandchildren
and 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Hazel Wright of Muir and Wilma and Pete
Dorey of Belding.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Edna Fletcher; his first
wife, Florence Fletcher; one son, Robert Fletcher; two grandchildren, Dennis
Witherbee and Sara Fletcher; two brothers, Raymond and Neil Fletcher; one
sister, Donna Piggott.

Funeral mass was held on Friday, March 27, 1998 at 11 a.m. at St. John the
Baptist Catholic Church in Hubbardston.  Fr. William Reitz officiated. 
Visitation was on Wednesday, March 25, 1998 from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday, March
26, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home in Carson City. 
Interment was in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Hubbardston.  Memorials may be
made to the donor’s choice.
