Sept. 10, 1837, being at the time of his decease 66 years, 10 months and 24 days old. With his father’s family he removed from New York to Michigan in the autumn of 1844 and became a resident of Boston, Ionia county, in the spring of 1845 and his home since has been on the farm which his father then purchased, except for about two years residence in Lowell. He was of a family of twelve children of whom the brothers Jerome and Levi and the sisters Hannah E. Stannard and Mary S. Tucker, are left. He was married April 18, 1863 to Celia Tucker, who died May 5, 1864. On August 26, 1866, he married Ellen Morse, who died April 11, 1903. To them were born two boys and three girls, Guy, Axel, Celia, Nina and Bertha. Celia and Bertha have gone before to that bourne from which no traveler returns, the other are left to mourn the loss of a kind, indulgent father. Funeral services were held at the South Boston M. E. church August 5, conducted by Rev. Chas. Nease assisted by Revs. J. H. Wesbrook and Geo. L. Sprague. The burial at South Boston cemetery was with Masonic honors by Lowell Lodge, conducted by J. B.
