Lowell Ledger, 26 May 1910

Levi Fletcher died at 10 a.m. May 24, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. M. C.
Kellar in Pontiac, after an illness of two weeks of pleuro-pheumonia.  He had
been at work in the Monroe auto factory at that place for the past two months. 
Mrs. Fletcher, who had been at his bedside for a week, returned home Tuesday
evening accompanied by the nephew, Guy Fletcher and Wednesday noon the son
Arthur, and Mr. and Mrs. Kellar and two children came with the body.  Mr.
Fletcher’s real name was Levi Schell.  He was born in Kiddville, now the city of
Belding, June 2, 1847.  His mother died when he was three weeks old and her
sister Mrs. John Fletcher, of Pratt Lake adopted him and he had since borne
their name.  On January 2, 1875, he was married to Catherine H. Story of South
Boston and they lived on the W. S. Story homestead at Pratt Lake most of the
time until they came to this village three years ago and purchased the pretty
little home on Jefferson street.  Besides his wife, four children survive; Will
P. and Mrs. Fred Harker of Missoula, Montana, and Mrs. M. C. Kellar and Arthur
Fletcher of Pontiac also one adopted sister, Mrs. M. S. Tucker of Indianapolis,
Ind., and one own sister, Mrs. C. W. Stone of Muir and several nieces, nephews
and grandchildren.  One nephew, Gates Stannard married Mrs. Fletcher’s sister,
and they live in Phoenix, Arizona.  Funeral services will be held at the home
Sunday under Masonic auspices and interment made in South Boston cemetery.
