Sept. 21, 2013 Greenville- Wayne Edgar Flint, 83 of Sidney, died Friday, Sep. 20, 2013. He was born April 30, 1930, to Luther and Cassie (Middleton) Flint in Flint. On June 20, 1959, he married Twidah L. Bekke in Vista, Calif. Wayne graduated from Belding High School in 1949, and from Palomar College in 1955. He served in the United States Army for two years during the Korean Conflict. After completing a four-year apprenticeship program, Wayne worked for 10 years as a Journeyman Machinist at Oldsmobile in Lansing. He decided he would rather be a rural route mail carrier, and for 22 years he did just that in the Sidney and Stanton areas. He retired from the Postal Service in 1994. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Doris Diebold; and one brother, Boyd Allen. He is survived by is wife of 54 years, Twidah; two sons, Dwayne Flint of Hager Shores and Robin (Rebecca) Flint of Sidney; three daughters, LeAnn (James) Horn of Freeport, Fla., Ronda (Misak) Dulbandzhyan of Sheridan, and Roxanne (Andrew) Switzer of Sidney; ten grandchildren, Ashleigh and Bekke Horn, Nicholas, Kirsten, and J.J. Dulbandzhyan, Jacob Rogers, Hailey Flint, and Paige, Todd, and Jenna Switzer; one great-grandson, Colton; and one sister, Beverly Christiansen of San Marcos, Calif. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Settlement Lutheran Church (1031 S. Johnson Rd., Gowen, MI 49326) with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Vicar Karen Ressel will serve as officiant. A luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Settlement Lutheran Church or the National Parkinson Foundation.
