Flint Mae E.Flint, 81, of Ionia passed away on Wednesday, Sept 22, 2010, at the Heartland Health Care Facility. She was born on Jan. 31, 1929 in Ionia the daughter of Walter and Vera (Heilman) Hanline. Both parents have preceded her in death. On May 31, 1946 Mae was married to Kenneth A. Flint in Ashton, Mich. They celebrated 47 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on Sept. 4, 1993. Surviving are her children, Joy and Stephen Wofford of Battle Creek, Dan and Judy Flint of St.Johns and Craig Flint of Orleans, 10 grandchildren; one sister,June and Clyde Shattuck of Venice, Fla.; and a brother, Leonard Hanline of Barryton. Mae has been a lifelong resident of Ionia; she retired as an LPN from the Ionia County Hospital and has been extremely active with the Ionia Community Christmas Project for man years, as well as volunteering with Eight Cap for 30-plus years, and the Ionia County Commission on Aging for more than 20 years. In addition, she was a member and was also ordained as a minister of the Sophia Church of Ionia. A celebration of life will be held at the Ionia County Commission on Aging Building, 115 Hudson, St.,Ionia on Saturday, Sept 25 beginning at 1 p.m. In accordance with Mae's wishes, cremation has already taken place. All of Mae's friends and relatives are invited to join her family for a special time of remembrance and sharing. In lieu of flowers, for those desiring to do so, Memorial considerations can be made to either the Ionia Community Christmas Project of the First Methodist Church Soup Kitchen.
