He was born May 12, 1934 in Wexford County to Ludwick and Opal (Nolan) Fockler. He married Ilene Ann Ward on November 17, 1967 in Ionia. Mr. Fockler attended Selma, Boon and Mesick Schools. After his marriage in 1967, he worked for Conway Lumber Co. in Grand Rapids, and for Superior Furniture Co. in Lowell for several years. He moved back to Cadillac in 2000. He enjoyed fishing, and making crafts such as making things from clothes pins, to making things with beads, and yard ornaments with wood. Mr. Fockler is survived by his wife Ilene of Alma and former wife Jerry McCloud of Manton. Sons, Edward Fockler of Cadillac, Allan (Pat) Fockler of Ionia, Daughters, Cindy (Paul) Johnson of McBain, and Lisa Fockler of Ionia. His brother Marvin (Annette) Fockler of Saranac, sister Donna (John) Phillipson of Cadillac. He raised four step children as his own. Mike Manning of Texas and Debra Dominguez, Troy Manning of Alma, and Renee (Phil) Sinclair of S.C. Several nieces and nephews. He had 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Ludwick and Opal. Brothers Ben and Ronnie; sister Leta Evans and infant daughter Linda Diane Fockler. He will be missed very much by friends and family. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2006 in Selma Township Cemetery, Wexford County with Rev. Clifton Burritt officiating. Memorial tributes may be made to Hospice of Michigan. Arrangements are being handled by the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac.
